First Food

I love to cook and read about food, and have been excited about introducing Teddy to his first foods. He's been studying us as we eat, fascinated by the bowls, plates, utensils, and food. As we approached his 6-month birthday, we decided to slowly begin giving him some vegetables and fruits that aren't very sweet (mashed avocado on 5/21 and the days that followed, and peas on 5/26). He hasn't been wild about either, and I'm guessing that he's hold out for bananas and sweet potatoes.

He at least likes chomping on his spoon, and ends up getting a few dabs of food as a result.

Teddy's first flight

Paternity leave

We officially made the switch yesterday. Jane is back at work, and Papa Bear is on paternity leave for the next 6 weeks. A pretty solid first day for Daddy. Teddy slept pretty well, played a bunch and took his bottles in great form. Adding to Daddy's sense of self-satisfaction: Teddy slept quite well last night!

Part of being the sole "on duty" parent is that access to a computer is somewhat limited (basically to Teddy's naptimes). So I've been using this iPhone app called Instagram to take photos.

This one is of Teddy chillin' in the morning. As you can see, he's in fine form. He's rolling from back to front like a rolling machine. Sadly, like Derek Zoolander, Teddy is not (yet) an ambiturner; he can't roll from front to back!


Teddy also has taken to doing pushups on occasion. I managed to get this action shot of him doing one. THIS WAS NOT A STUNT DOUBLE. Check out the muscles on my little boy!

The Daily Teddy 5/19

Teddy and I had a great morning at the aquarium with some new friends. We’re now excitedly awaiting Auntie Anneliese’s arrival. It's sure to be a fun weekend!

Teddy is hanging out and practicing rolling on the quilt Jenny made for him. Thanks, Jenny, for this very special gift! We can't wait for Teddy to meet you in July!

They popped through last Wednesday. Teeth! Exciting! But not good for sleep.

Our Household

Teddy is becoming a great communicator. He especially exclaims when he sees Roosevelt and Miso, and has special sounds reserved only for them. We're having a lot of fun helping Teddy discover and explore our home and the world!
